COBRAMAN final conference in Bydgoszcz

The results of international cooperation will be presented during final conference of COBRAMAN which will be held in Bydgoszcz from 16-18 April 2012. Integrated management of brownfields will be the subject of discussion during the workshops on environmental aspects, needs for transnational cooperation, brownfield education, training for practice, strategy of brownfields for urban development and many others.
Conference will be organized by City of Bydgoszcz.

COBRAMAN seminar "BROWNFIELDS – EDUCATION AND PRACTICE" in Ostrava

1 st of December Seminar „Brownfields – Education and Practice“ was arranged. Main participation from students was expected but there was great interest from teachers from abroad as well and on seminar we hosted almost 200 participants. The key seminar theme was the restoration and reusing brownfields and the presentation of educational programe European Master School for the regeneration of brownfield sites.
The seminar was divided into two sections. The aim of the morning section was to familiarize participants with the concept of brownfields, to create an idea about the seriousness and urgency of that issue and to present new field of study and methods of education. The afternoon session was focused on enhancing the knowledge and dissemination of information demonstrated on particular examples. A series of lectures were led by experienced instructors - academic employees of the Technical University of Ostrava - as well as practice experts.
There was ensured the afternoon excursion to Dul Michal Mine for participants, esspecially for lectors.

COBRAMAN at EXPO REAL 2011

The 14th trade fair for property and investment opportunities in Munich, Germany, showed many new initiatives in the property market. The COBRAMAN was present at the exhibiton through Tereza Dostalova and Marta Saskova from the City od Usti nad Labem, who visited all six halls devoted to the event during two days and spoke to various exhibitors and other visitors in search for browfield related proffessionals and developers. It was widely appreciated among above mentioned public the brownfield manager position establishment, the brownfields inventory, the GIS layer and Usti Brownfield Regeneration Strategy too. There was a sincere interest in the COBRAMAN project partnership and its results and in the Central Europe programme, that enabled such innovative activities in brownfield management in the specific European region. For the COBRAMAN project to attend EXPO REAL was usefull in networking, experiencing communication with property managers and discussing financial and feasibility questions of brownfields.
